throughout my 2 years in NUS, I have made friends and form bonds with the foreign students who came over for a semester or two. They helpingd with me their cultures and viewpoints. Through them, I got a better understanding of their countries, much more than what I could have gained from reading or the internet. I went to Korea under the Yonsei International Summer School organised by Yonsei University in 2010 and it was another valuable experience. The program attracted students from all over the world, most of them who have yet to visit capital of Singapore.



A large mass came from United States of America/Europe and they were all curious about Singapore and our culture. There were many questions like Is Singapore authentically strict about laws? I heard that you have to jail if you drive-drive etcetera It was then that I strongly felt that there were a lot of misconceptions about Singapore and I pauperizationed to share and tell them how Singapore is really like. Similarly, the Korean friends that I got to cheat during the trip told me they did not know much about Singapore prior to knowing me. But our constant interaction and share-out of the similarities and differences between our cultures has given them a better understanding of Singapore.
