Holland further pushes this notion of unique identity inequality under Australian Citizenship as Holland refers to World War 1 as a step back from Citizenship due to the assertion of enemy aliens(p.158.). It shows the governments intention to override civil and political rights, and depicts that the protection and rights that come with citizenship as a form of loose law, as those rights could be easily revoked by the government(p.159.).
