The Russian Civil fight raged from 1918 until the start of 1921. During this time the Bolsheviks faced massive opposition to their die hard in the form of the White Armies, led by the antecedent officers of the Tsarist state, and also from intervention by the forces of foreign countries. The Bolsheviks were surrounded, and a great deal outnumbered by their opponents. At times, their situation seemed hopeless. Yet, by the start of 1921, the Bolsheviks had overcome their enemies and gained a complete victory. This victory can be ascribe to the partys aims, leadership, geography, and support.
The Bolsheviks, more commonly known as Reds, were all situated within the central western cranial orbit of Russia, the areas which were occupied by the Reds, contained the majority of Russias industrial centres, so they were easily able produce munitions and war supplies. Due to their berth they also had complete control of the railway line that committed Petrograd and Moscow, and the rest of the country. To have power of the railway lines meant that they could send soldiers and accelerator pedal to any place in the battle area.
Opponents of the Bolsheviks, known as the Whites, had some major disadvantages, although they had a large amount of supporters, they were baffled around the central area; they were often hundreds and hundreds of miles amongst to each one army. The geographical distance between the troops meant that communications between each other were extremely difficult and that is if they even precious to communicate.
