I had the luck to care replete(p)y observe an infant, Baby T, for about 1 and one half hours in the infant schoolroom at the Guilford Technical Community College Childrens Center.
The environment in this classroom provides infants with opportunities for safe and stimulating exploration. The infants are surrounded by diametrical textures and a multitude of brilliant colorize. Pictures on the walls feature objects and nation the children find interesting and are displayed at their eye level. developmentally clutch toys are scattered about on the ball over to provide infants with a variety of continuing challenges. The teachers sit on the floor and join infants in their play. Also, the classroom environment provides umpteen choices for activities.
The classroom floor was mostly carpeted except for the diapering and nourishment preparation area. The room was filled with large, soft, subspeciesable pillows and washable toys.
The colors used on the walls are neutral soothing colors.
The classroom has large windows, which allows plenty of warm natural sunlight to wash over the room. The classroom has overhead incandescent lighting.
The furniture in the classroom is designed for their comfort and ease of cleaning. There are rocking chairs so teachers can feed and rock babies comfortably. The infants have appropriate opportunities to climb, crawl, roll, and scoot safely on structures designed specifically for them. The classroom is rearranged frequently to provide new challenges and opportunities. The infant classroom provides a safe, comfortable, clean, attractive environment in which children can spend productive, sweet days with their friends and teachers.
