Brian David Josephson was born on January 4th, in 1940. Brian attended Cardiff High discipline and went on to Cambridge University. He earn his BA in 1960. Josephson move to study at Cambridge and in 1964 was awarded his PhD in physics. He returned to Cambridge University in 1967 as an Assistant Director of look and then a professor in 1974. He kept this position until he retired in 2007. This in turn led to the invention of the Josephson junction.
Hes earned numerous awards such as New Scientist in 1969, Research Corporation in 1969, Fritz London Memorial Prize in 1970, and the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1973.
