Today John Deere is just a tractor; in 1830 he was an innovated engineer. John Deere, the man behind the tractor, was innate(p) in 1804 in Rutland Vermont. With the loss of his father at a very young age, John sought guidance and a father figure in a blacksmith named Benjamin Lawrence. Lawrence was a much respected, high notable blacksmith. After receiving much fostering Deere set out on his own journey. In 1836 subsequently hearing about the trouble that the farmers in the Midwest were having he decided to try to help them. The problem was that the pilot film plows that they were apply were not meant for such thick soil. The plows would become covered with louse up every few feet so the plow wouldnt perish right. Deere decided to invent his own plow. In 1958 Deeres youngest son, Charles, took over the company at the age of 21. By Charles destruction in 1907 Deere and Company were making many different products from the original steel plow to cotton and corn planters. From there the company expanded into what it is today.
