There are seven issue forbearing safety goals for Medicare based long term care. They embarrass everything from making sure you are with the right longanimous to recognizing a patient who is more likely to fall for any reason. throughout this essay I will break down and sum up each of the goals, and also one goal that I speak out is extremely important when taking care of a geriatric patient. It is important to remember that these safety goals are in shopping center to make the health care setting a safe environment for both the patients and the people who work there.
NPSG.01.01.01: This states that when identifying a patient you must use two identifiers. If you are working with a patient long term you can use facial recognition as one identifier. This goal is intended to go out that the patient is fetchting the correct treatment they need. I expression that this goal is important because if you do not identify the patient you could be giving him/her someone elses treatment, which in braid could cause the patient harm or even death.
NPSG.03.05.
01: States that plain caution needs to be taken when you have a patient that is taking any type of store thinners. This goal is to keep patients who are undergoing anticoagulant therapy while taking blood thinners. When taking care of a patient in this land site you must inform them of the risks involved.
NPSG.03.06.01: This states that you must record and correctly work through along a patients list of medications. It also states that when giving a patient new medication you need to compare it to the preceding medication and make sure that the patient knows what medications to take at home.
