Socialization and Impression Management

When it comes to personal socialization, friends and school contribute greatly. They both aid tremendously in shaping our knowledge personalities, whether we think so or not. One of the biggest factors on this throughout school is familiarity. Popularity, in my opinion, send word be defined as how well known and/or liked you are. It has a lot to do with fitting in, and hanging out with the in crowd. In my own naughty school, the popular crowd wasnt hard to break down out, as cliques throughout my school were rather obvious. I would cite those with the most popularity were usually either attractive, truly intelligent, entertaining/funny, athletic, or often a combination of those. For the most part, these people were reasonably nice, although didnt often hang out with those less popular outside of school. I can say that I carry on to the music characterisation for Popular by Nada Surf. In fact, I believe that the majority of people can. Although I had my free radical of friends, I was one to sort of bridge gaps between these cliques, as I associated with people from many different ones. I do believe that teachers play a large part in the popularity if certain students. Most teachers show favoritism to certain students, particularly those who are already popular (simply boosting their popularity even more).



Popularity definitely shapes your high school experience, in my opinion. What you do, what you become interested in, and your outlook on the high school experience has a lot to do with the crowd you hang out with. Looking back on my high school experience, I do believe that I sacrificed my true self in some steerings in order to fit in with the popular students. In fact, I think that anyone who denies doing that, at least in some way or at some point, is lying.
